HOT Weather = Bluegrass, Gospel and Old Tyme Music

Hello Everyone.  WOW, what a HOT summer, I think it is the 2nd hottest on record.  Is it too hot to fish??? I don't think so.  Look at the photo and make up your own mind.

I will have to say that HOT weather doesn't stop the pickers from coming to our weekly jam.  We had another nice crowd this last Thursday and plenty of listeners as well.  We are very appreciative to our host, Country Meadows Baptist Church for allowing us the use of their air conditioned facilities.  Another bit of news is that we should offer congratulations to Dave Hicks for the birth of his first grandchild, a healthy baby girl.   We can now officially call Dave a grandpa!  His daughter is doing fine as well.

We continue to see some new faces show up, this week we welcome Bo who just moved to KC a week ago.  He is looking for a job as a recent graduate of Missouri Science and Technology at Rolla with a BioChemical Engineering degree.   Did you notice his choice instrument was playing the Banjo!  Does this mean Banjo players are intelligent or no one will hire them?  [laughing out loud].

By the way, the picture is of my prize Crappie that is 14" long.   I knew if I didn't take a picture no one would believe me.  I posted the photo to show "Mr Crappie",  who is my guitar picking friend, how it is done, even in hot weather.  He has been catching the 5" variety.  His initials are KH.

See you Thursday,
Bill
