Anniversary PIcking Celebration - January 27th

 Hello Everyone.  I hope you can make it to our 5yr anniversary celebration on January 27th at 6:30pm.  Dave and I have planned some special things to entice you beyond our normal weekly picking.  We plan to have some cake and ice cream, plus our traditional "last Thursday of the month CD give away", plus a nice "gift certificate give away" at a local restauarant.   Of course there will be plenty of time for picking, singing, laughing and generally having a good time.
On another note, I heard the Rhonda Vincent show at the Northtown Opry last Thursday was really good.  You might want to talk to Harvey or Carolyn about the details.  I am really amazed that our picking venue is still going after these five years, which was really official on January 11th.  Thanks to all those who come and support our efforts.

CONGRATULATIONS to our local KC Bluegrass talent at the Mid-West  SPBGMA NOMINATIONS:  Karla Campbell (bassfiddler performer of the year AND entertainer of the year);  Jimmy Campbell (dobro performer of the year);  Jim McGreevy (banjo performer of the year AND male vocalist of they year, contemporary);  Ed Sellers (fiddle performer of the year);  Mae Burlison (female vocalist of the year);   Also congratulations to all the members of the Bluegrass Brigade band for Album of the year AND Bluegrass Band of the year (contemporary).  Best of luck to each of you.
